It Started with a School

Cambodia, Charity No Comments

So an early start to day in Siem Reap with a knock on the door at 730am and off to work we go! I accompanied Simon, who runs Rosy’s Guesthouse with Rachel, to a charity funded school about 15 minutes out of town from the guesthouse.

The school was called ABC’s + Rice and is funded with the generous help and hard work of the charities Founders Tammy and Matt ( Matt informed us that we had to remove half of one of the school buildings to allow for a new metal based structure to be constructed. Take a look at the photos below!! Not bad for a southern softie with “soft hands” (which was true as they ended up blistering!)

Almost There

Well that was the morning and I have to say it was a very rewarding and unexpected experience that I would recommend to anyone who has not done volunteeringĀ before.

If you want more information about this particular scheme you can find it at where you will also be able to donate if you wish. They could really do with the help and it is a very worthwhile cause, for Kids who really appreciate the effort put in.
