It Started with a School

Cambodia, Charity No Comments

So an early start to day in Siem Reap with a knock on the door at 730am and off to work we go! I accompanied Simon, who runs Rosy’s Guesthouse with Rachel, to a charity funded school about 15 minutes out of town from the guesthouse.

The school was called ABC’s + Rice and is funded with the generous help and hard work of the charities Founders Tammy and Matt ( www.abc-rice.com). Matt informed us that we had to remove half of one of the school buildings to allow for a new metal based structure to be constructed. Take a look at the photos below!! Not bad for a southern softie with “soft hands” (which was true as they ended up blistering!)

Done

Well that was the morning and I have to say it was a very rewarding and unexpected experience that I would recommend to anyone who has not done volunteering before.

If you want more information about this particular scheme you can find it at www.abc-rice.com where you will also be able to donate if you wish. They could really do with the help and it is a very worthwhile cause, for Kids who really appreciate the effort put in.
